In 1928, The Old Schoolhouse was incorporated as Chehalem Valley Community Center. It was built solely on the donations of the community both labor wise and financially. For a near century, it has served as an anchor in the Newberg area for it's important purpose of gathering and enriching the local community. Hosting numerous functions from roller skating nights to a polling facility it was eventually leased to Newberg School district and used as a school in the 1950's-1960's. It's historic significance has a tremendous value and you can almost feel the history when you enter the building.
After years of idleness, it is being restored and transformed into The Old Schoolhouse. We are reviving the building to serve its original purpose of a place to gather. The Old Schoolhouse is open to host any conceivable event from fundraising to weddings to celebrations of life. We are nestled in breathtaking scenery, surrounded by orchards, mountains and vineyards a perfect backdrop to your event.
